Search by postcode or address
Use the official Find an energy certificate service for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Scotland has a separate route through the Scottish EPC register.
Search using the full address and check the result against the property. If the address has been altered, converted or split into units, the register listing may need closer review.
Check the certificate date
EPCs are generally valid for up to 10 years, but a newer certificate for the same building replaces the earlier one. Look at the latest lodged certificate and confirm it relates to the right property.
Download the report
The certificate shows the A–G energy rating and recommendations. Keep a copy with your property records and share it with the agent or adviser handling the transaction.
When to ask for help
If the address cannot be found, the record appears incorrect, or substantial changes have been made, ask an accredited assessor or the relevant register service what to do next. A new assessment should not be assumed until the property and transaction context are reviewed.
