What is an Energy Performance Certificate?
An EPC describes a property’s energy performance using an A–G scale and includes recommendations. It is produced by an accredited energy assessor after an assessment.
How long is an EPC valid?
Most EPCs can be used for up to 10 years, unless a newer certificate has been lodged for the property. Check the official register before booking.
Do I need a new EPC for every tenancy or sale?
Not usually if there is a valid certificate. Check the official register and relevant rules for your circumstances before commissioning another assessment.
How long does an assessment take?
